Radicova: I Don’t See Euro as a Success Story

Acting Prime Minister Iveta Radicova ended the year by saying she did not regard the euro as a success story.

Speaking to TASR newswire, Radicova noted how it would not be entirely fitting to celebrate the tenth birthday of euro adoption in the Slovak Republic as the euro carries with it a dark cloud in the shape of the eurozone crisis. Hardly surprising as it was essentially the eurozone debate that brought down her government, along with others in the wake of the eurozone crisis.

Radicova pointed out how she would therefore not describe herself as somebody who praises the euro as a success story, as it was a story that ended in massive debts, with which the European Union now has to struggle.
