Remember to put your clocks forward by an hour this Sunday 27th March, as we apply Daylight Saving Time.
Although we will lose out on one hour this weekend, it is well-compensated for by that extra hour of sunlight every evening, which tends also to keep people outdoors more.
There are arguments for and against the practice, but it does have some advantages, like energy saving as we can use natural light longer. A full history of the introduction of the system can be read here.
The clocks will not go back again until 30 October.
