An article in SME daily today reports how road accidents claimed a total of 10 lives last week in a total of 233 accidents.

The police put the deaths of the six drivers, three passengers and one pedestrian chiefly down to people not taking account of the blustery weather conditions, snow and ice, and so are calling again on drivers to take more care and for pedestrians to wear something reflective.
The overall number of accidents is in fact 77 fewer than the same period last year, however.
