Agriculture minister Zsolt Simon held a press briefing today to announce that the ban on meat products and eggs from Germany that was imposed on 7 January had been lifted as the laboratory tests for the presence of dioxin proved negative.

Simon underlined, though, that the obligations on any party importing certain products from Germany would remain in place, meaning they had to specify where the goods are from, that they are not harmful and also declare to the state hygiene authority that the goods are not from risk areas and are free of dioxin.
