Life should become easier for those wanting to travel to Central Slovakia as former military airport Sliac Airport gets set to accept commercial flights at the newly reconstructed airport.
The airport has not been accepting flights for two years already, but after being given a cash injection by NATO, the airport will soon finish its new runway and open its doors to chartered and other flights.
The Ministry of Defence will be responsible for operations at the airport, guiding arrivals, departures, landings and takeofs, while the customer aspects, like check-in and baggage handling, will be dealt with by the company Letisko Sliac.
