Slovakia joins top class in quality of life

According to the Human Development Report 2010 published yesterday, Slovakia is very developed and has a very high standard of living, reports TASR newsire.

Slovakia jumped 12 places in the index, taking it from the high level development class to very high development, and so joining the likes of Australia and the U.S.A. It is now in 31st place and is in front of Poland and Hungary, but just behind the Czech Republic.

Top of the list containing 169 countries is Norway, but the list is not a mere reflection of economic growth, as it deals with how developed a society is in general, meaning life expectancy, education, equality, drinking water access, healthcare standard and so on.

The Human Development Report is an independent publication of the United Nations Development Programme and has been compiled since 1990.
