The national agency for supporting small and medium-sized enterprises, NADSME, has been used to siphon off over EUR 4 million since 2006, said Prime Minister Iveta Radicova.
The PM stated that the agency had been taken over by suspicious groups, which still have a hold on it now. An investigation has been launched at the anti-corruption authority UBPK into the case.
NADSME prepares projects that are funded by the state budget or the EU. Last year some EUR 17.8 million flowed through the agency, with some of the contracts going to the company Hayek Consulting, which has been the centre of a conflict of interests scandal recently.
