As if it was not enough that Slovakia’s reputation is being tarnished by the hotel rooms of hockey players being cleared out, but now someone has had the cheek to steal five hockey tops of famous Slovak player Peter Stastny directly from the Hockey Night event at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
The theft happened at the weekend, with nobody any the wiser as to what happened, with it only being noticed after the event was over. The police are investigating the theft, of course, but it will be difficult to close this case with no leads.
Suspicion falls primarily on ministry employees or some guest of the event, as nobody else really had access to the tops. The tops could have a considerable value as collectors items.
