The Statistical Office SR released figures yesterday showing that the average salary in Slovakia rose by 3.2% in 2010 compared to 2009. This means the official average salary in the country is now EUR 769, reports TASR newswire.
In line with the long-term trend, the highest salaries can still be found in the field of information and telecommunications, where the average pay stands at EUR 1,450, while the financial sector is not far behind with a figure of EUR €1,425.
At the other end of the scale, the back end of the index is still occupied by the sector of hospitality services, where employees can expect an average pay of just EUR 503. Fairing only a little better are those in the construction sector (EUR 579) and in agriculture (EUR 581).
