Insurance company Allianz – Slovenska Poistovna arranged a private charter flight to collect 170 more stranded tourists yesterday. The tourists found themselves in Antalya, Turkey, with no hotel and no flight home after booking their holidays with travel agency Karya Tour, which went bankrupt right after they left.
The insurer’s spokesman said that 170 other tourists were returning on a second flight later in the evening. The last 61 Slovak tourists still in Turkey will have to wait until Friday night before they return to Bratislava. The touists had to pay for the first two nights out of their own pocket or they would have been on the streets. Many of them complained that they had been accommodated in a 3-star hotel instead of a 4-star, with various remarks also about their tour delegate’s inappropriate attitude in Turkey.
