Supreme Court let off the hook for now

The Regional Court in Bratislava has ruled that the Supreme Court does not yet have to pay the fine of EUR 33,000 imposed on it by finance minister Ivan Miklos over its refusal to allow his ministry to conduct an audit.

The court recommended therefore accepted the appeal of the Supreme Court to adjourn the enforcement of a verdict, as the Supreme Court argued that payment of the fine would pose an immediate threat to the operation of the court.

No appeal can be made against the ruling, which the Regional Court substantiated by the threat of possible damages resulting from inefficient operation of the Supreme Court.
