Taiwanese President wants better business ties with SR

President Ma Ying-jeou of Taiwan said today that he hopes to work out treaties to avoid double taxation with Slovakia in an effort to boost bilateral business ties.

Other hopes of the president include a working holiday visa agreement and a driver’s license acceptance agreement with Slovakia.

The announcement comes as head of the Slovak-Taiwanese Parliamentary Friendship Group, Ivan Stefanec, is visiting Taiwan together with Slovak MPs and officials, in the first such visit of its kind by Slovak representatives.

The moves could lead to other Taiwanese companies coming to invest in Slovakia, to join the likes of Hon Hai Precision Industry Co. and AU Optronics Corp, which already operate here.
