The government won’t be holding an extraordinary session today, 23 September, to discuss the State Language Act, because discussions between coalition party Most-Hid and the Ministry of Culture failed. The talks have been suspended and will reopen later.
One thing PM Iveta Radicova did say, though, was that some fines installed by the former government will remain in force, but may be reduced.
“Representatives of the ruling parties (SDKU, SaS, KDH and Most-Hid) have a week to agree on these issues” said Radicova, although they were due to discuss the law yesterday, but it was dropped from the agenda beforehand.
