Slovak tennis player Dominika Cibulkova got off to a positive start in the WTA tournament in Brisbane Australia, defeating Italian Sara Errani in straight sets in less than an hour.
The curious thing is that in the next round Cibulkova will encounter another Italian, between Flavia Pennetta and Roberta Vinci.
Cibulkova, coached by Croatian Zeljko Krajan, appeared a little nervous in the first set until they were tying at 3 games each, but she then went on to take the set without any major worries. Dominika dominated the second set totally, playing aggressively and giving Errani no chance to get into the match.
“Despite some imperfections, I won the first set for not pushing hard to play my opponent. I bet my tactics on aggression and speed. I am happy to have started 2011 so well” said Dominika.
“I believe in the work I am doing, especially thanks to the preparation that I had in Florida and I am confident in the near future. Maybe I’ll play against Pennetta in the next round, but that does not bother me much because I’m focused on myself and I want to prove myself in the field, ” concluded Dominika smiling.
