The trade unions amalgamated in the Trade Unions Confederation (KOZ) have decided to call off the protest events planned in reaction to the government’s proposed changes to the Labour Code, for the time being at least.
They took the decision yesterday and so will return to the negotiating table with the government and employers. Prime Minister Iveta Radicova has welcomed the move and hopes an agreement can be reached.
One more protest organised by KOVO trade union in Banska Bystrica will go ahead, though, but a truce will then be in place until the Labour Code passes through interdepartmental review. KOZ will continue to collect signatures for its petition against the Labour Code changes just in case.
