Train Drivers to Strike for One Hour on Friday

Anyone travelling by train this Friday should time their journey well as the Slovak Federation of Train Drivers (FSSR) has announced a one-hour strike between 2.50 and 3.50 pm.

The strike is to protest against how the government is revitalising railway companies, which is leading to thousands of job losses, among other things.

The strike will pretty much take place at peak travelling time for a Friday, and so could disrupt the journey of the many thousands of Slovaks, especially those who work or study in the capital all week before commuting home at weekends.
