The decision of Turkey to end the visa requirement for citizens of the Slovak Republic traveling to Turkey has been welcomed by Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign and European Affairs of the Slovak Republic Miroslav Lajčák.
“I appreciate this step taken by Turkey, which will facilitate our citizens travelling to Turkey. I’m pleased that our efforts in abolishing the visa requirement for our citizens, which we have pursued during talks with Turkey – even at the prime-ministerial level – have been successfully finalized,” stated Minister Lajčák.
He also added that Slovakia is ready to adopt the maximum possible liberalization of the visa regime towards Turkey within the Schengen rules, which would confirm the existing constructive relations between Ankara and Bratislava.
Turkey is a favorite destination for Slovak tourists, especially in the summer tourist season, when more than a hundred thousand holiday-makers from Slovakia visit this country.
