Slovak hockey player Lubomir Višňovsky got married yesterday to his 6-month pregnant partner Katka after many years of planning, but a cloud hung over the occasion as his best man was supposed to be Pavol Demitra, who was tragically killed a week ago.
The couple said their vows at Bratislava Town Hall in a quiet ceremony and they and their son Maxiam will head off to California, where Lubomir plays for the Anaheim Ducks, right after the funeral of their good friend Pavol Demitra in Trencin tomorrow.
On a TV show a while back the couple had explained that they could just not find the right time to organise their wedding, and that this had gone on for years. How unfortunate that it had not been just a little earlier.
