The largest car manufacturer in Slovakia, Volkswagen Slovensko, has declared the possible generation of a further 4,000 jobs, reports daily Hospodarske Noviny (HN).
The car maker says that thanks to the creation of 1,000 new jobs at its plant in Bratislava in September, it expects another 3,000 or so jobs to be created indirectly through supplier companies. The company switched to around-the-clock operation as its sales soared.
The VW plant has a wide range of supplier companies based in Slovakia, such as the Matador group. Spokesman for Matador Dusan Koblisek told HN: “Our results are positively influenced by the successful launch of the successor to VW Touareg and Porsche Cayenne models”.
