The battle for gas and electricity customers is becoming more heated, with most companies now trying to combine gas and electricity supplies for their customers.
Electricity distributor ZSE Energia has joined this race for gas customers. Here The Daily provides you with a translation of an article published in today’s SME daily.
From 26 October ZSE Energia, a.s. is among the companies that supply gas nationwide in Slovakia.
The biggest supplier of electricity in Slovakia has therefore expanded its portfolio also to offer a second commodity – gas. The new product range is so far only intended for customers with a total gas consumption at all points of supply in excess 633 MWh.
The company informed of the move. “Comprehensive services relating to the supply of gas are secured for the whole territory of Slovakia. Next year we are preparing expanding the supply of gas also to other segments, including households,” said Juraj Krajcár, chairman of the Board of Directors and Sales Director of ZSE Energia, a.s.
Západoslovenská energetika, a.s. is the leading power company in Slovakia. A 51-percent majority stake in ZSE is owned by the National Property Fund SR, but shareholder rights are exercised by the Ministry of Economy SR.
In 2002 Západoslovenska energetika became part of the German energy group E.ON, which holds a 40% stake in the company. The remaining 9-percent share is owned by the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development. In 2007 the company ZSE was split into independent 100-percent subsidiaries ZSE Energia, a.s., and ZSE Distribúcia, as well as for sales and electricity trading.
