French hockey team ends up in Krakow, Poland

The French national hockey team could be at a slight disadvantage in the opening match of the Ice Hockey World Championships against Switzerland in Kosice this afternoon, after a mix-up with their flights.

The French team were put on a flight to Krakow in Poland, and so had to make the final 290 km of the journey to Kosice by bus on Wednesday. At least they got some sightseeing done before their first practice session on Thursday morning.

The reason for the mix-up is unknown but I guess both Poland and Slovakia are ‘somewhere near Russia’ and Krakow and Kosice have the same initial.

Bonne chancefrance!
