Day of mourning for the victims of gun spree

Today was the official day of mourning for the victims whose lives were slain by the armed killer in Bratislava on Monday, which saw state flags fly at half-mast.

The day of mourning was announced by the government on Tuesday, after 48yr old Lubomir Harman gunned down seven people before the police shot him and then he blew his own head off. An additional 15 people were injured, 3 of which are still in a serious condition in hospital. One is highly critical..

A state of mourning has only been declared in Slovakia six times till now, the last time back on 18 April in remembrance of those who died in the Polish plane crash, including Polish President Lech Kaczynski and his partner Maria.
