Figel becomes Fico’s latest target

Leading opposition party Smer-SD is not happy about the situation regarding motorway construction and so has decided to call for a special parliamentary session to discuss the issue.

Leader of Smer-SD, Robert Fico, announced the plan at a press conference yesterday. Fico is demanding that transport minister Jan Figel (KDH) explain to house what he meant exactly by his comments about cancelling the public-private-partnership (PPP) project with the consortium Slovenske Dialnice.

Fico is also demanding that Figel lay out his plans for motorway construction at last, while also threatening a possible no-confidence motion on the minister, saying “the transport minister has seriously damaged Slovak interests”.
