First Data Corporation opens new service centre in Bratislava

First Data Corporation, a global leader in electronic commerce and payment processing, announced the opening of its new operations and technology service centre in Bratislava yesterday. Located in the city’s Digital Park, the centre will enable First Data to improve its client service and operational efficiency across the European, Middle East and African (EMEA) region.

Already a number of First Data’s regional technical operations in EMEA are provided from Bratislava and this move continues the company’s investment in its delivery centre there. Over 100 First Data employees will be based at the new location, which will provide support to the payments business of First Data clients in several European markets. The opening of the new technology centre is planned to augment the total number of First Data staff in Bratislava to approximately 400.

“Putting the customer first is First Data’s key objective,” said Jon Judge, First Data CEO, who performed the opening ceremony. “We believe this new operations and technology centre in Bratislava will enable us to provide the most efficient and highest quality service to our clients in EMEA.”

First Data and its predecessor company have been operating in Slovakia since 1994. The company’s processing centre in Bratislava currently serves over 60 clients from 19 countries, including some of the leading multi-national financial institutions in Europe. First Data’s business in Slovakia has been at the forefront of industry innovation in recent years, having developed and implemented pilots in prepaid and contactless payment technologies. Source: First Data
