Government to discuss EFSF and loan to Greece on Thursday

At a press conference following the government session today, 14 July, Iveta Radicova announced that the government would not be discussing the issue of supporting the European Financial Stability Facility (EFSF) and the loan to Greece on Wednesday until tomorrow, Thursday, for which an extraordinary session has been convened.

During their visit to Brussels on Monday and Tuesday of this week, Finance Minister Ivan Miklos and PM Iveta Radicova discsued the two issues.

Europe is still waiting for Slovakia’s endorsement of the EFSF agreement, but the new Slovak Government has reservations towards it. Robert Fico already approved the mechanism as a departing gesture under the current government, and the EU expect the current government to respect the agreement.
