The Month of Photography Bratislava 2010 event with a series of exhibitions will go on for the whole of November. The event is organised as part of the European Month of Photography in Paris, Vienna, Berlin, Roma, Moscow, Luxembourg and Bratislava. This is the twentieth anniversary of the festival.

The main venue for this photographic event is the Dom Umenia (House of Art), but it takes place also in other galleries and museums of Bratislava and features photos of authors from all over the world (photographic achievements from five continents – North and South America, Asia, Australia, Africa and Europe).

The Month of Photography not only brings together 34 individual and collective exhibitions of photographers from around the world, but also reflects current trends and developments in international and Central and Eastern European photography.

Open to everyone with a passion for photography – professionals or amateurs – the event is a celebration of the photograph, creating a platform for learning about breakthroughs in the world of photographic skills as well as providing space to compare the history of this medium with contemporary authors.

The highlight of this year’s event is the famous Taiwanese photographer, Chien-Chi Chang from Magnum Photos Agency, who will be giving a presentation and leading some photography workshops.

Also on a display will be World Press Photo 2010 exhibition, showcasing the top photo-journalistic images from the past year, Wildlife photographer of the Year exhibition and Luxury exhibition by eminent photographer, Martin Parr.
