A new section of cycling path along the Danube was opened in Bratislava last week, finishing off one of the longest international cycling routes in Europe, the EuroVelo6.
The new section stretches between the Novy Most and Stary Most bridges on the Petrzalka side of the river, a real hot spot in the summer and puts the final piece into the 4,500 km of continual cycling paths from the Atlantic Ocean at Saint-Brévin-les-Pins to the Black Sea at Constanta. Bratislava mayor Milan Ftacnik officially opened the new section, christening it symbolically with water from the Danube.
