The company Holidays Czech Airlines (HCA) will restart regular flights between Poprad and London starting November-December.
The flights should shuttle between Poprad and London every Thursday and Sunday, ending a two year absence of flights to the English capital, after the airline Sky Europe was wound up. In 2009 it was operating four flights a week to London from Poprad Airport thanks to healthy demand, so HCA is confident the new flights will do well.
Poprad local council will decide next week whether to grant the company the requested subsidy of EUR 50,000 to help get the operation off the ground, but first they must adjust the subsidy rules to include services promoting regional development and employment.
