The Hungarian Ministry of Public Administration had received an extradition request from Slovakia for the suspected war crimes criminal last week.

The now 97 year old is accused of sending thousands of Jews to their death while he was working as a police officer in the town of Kosice, Kassa in Hungary at the time

An official European arrest warrant has not yet been received by Hungary for Csatary but if it does it would be up to the courts to decide his extradition because he is already under arrest in Hungary, they could refuse to carry it out.

Csatary denies all charges against him and says it is a case of mistaken identity.
