Car manufacturer Volkswagen Slovakia has started its recruitment process for around 1,500 new employees in preparation for the production of its New Small Family car.

It is mostly looking for production workers for bodywork, finishing and assembly work, and so potential employees should have a technical secondary school education. The company will be recruiting to the end of the year, with new employees to undergo at least 4 weeks training before starting work.

The company has plants in Bratislava, Martin and Kosice and produced around 155,000 vehicles last year, generating a turnover in excess of EUR 4 billion and helping the Slovak trade balance significantly, as most of production is exported. The company expects thousands more jobs to be created as part of the supplier chain.
