Miskov: over 2,500 jobs expected from US investments

Following his recent Road Show in the USA, economy minister Juraj Miskov declared at a press conference today that US companies will generate around 2,500 new jobs in Slovakia.

Around 550 new jobs should be created by IBM, while Hewlett-Packard should create around 600. Telecommunications company AT&T is also expected to create an additional 300 to 500 new jobs and automotive supplier Johnson Controls is expected to add another 250 people to its workforce. All of the companies already operate in Slovakia.

Miskov also pointed out that some companies that are not yet present on the Slovak market have also promised investments, while noting that these investments would be without state incentives. One new investment already underway in the Presov region comes from the company Honeywell, which is expected to employ around 450 people.
