As expected, head of the Supreme Court and concurrently the Judicial Council, Stefan Harabin, has announced the date for election to the dual posts for 19 May, with nominations being accepted until 28 April.
Harabin, whose term of office ends on 23 June, could be in the running for the post, with the appointment being decided on by the Judicial Council, which itself should have a new composition by then.
At present, nominations are being made for appointments to the Judicial Council, and should be in effect by the time the vote on the chairman of both institutions takes place and before President-elect Andrej Kiska can influence the process.
